On July 23, the Trade Union of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province announced that in the first 6 months of 2024, the entire industry admitted 166 new union members; newly established 1 grassroots trade union with 43 union members.
Currently, the context of agricultural production and business enterprises is facing many difficulties. Therefore, the number of workers working in this field has tended to decrease significantly in recent times. Specifically, the total number of union members decreased by 108 people compared to the same period last year.
Mr. Le Anh Hung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province - said that the trade union of the industry is facing many difficulties in the current context.
For example, coordinating with employers to organize dialogues, implement grassroots democracy regulations, participate in negotiations, and sign collective labor agreements at grassroots trade unions and enterprises outside the region. The state is still limited.
Enterprises in the agricultural sector have recently encountered many difficulties, especially in the coffee and forestry sectors... This has affected the organization and activities of grassroots Trade Unions.
According to Mr. Hung, the reality is that the lack of full-time union officials has affected the quality of task implementation. In some affiliated units, active Trade Union officials also do part-time professional work, so the time devoted to the grassroots Trade Union is limited and not given due attention.
Mr. Hung said that he will try to overcome difficulties. From now until the end of the year, the industry trade union will continue to consolidate and improve the quality of operations of grassroots trade unions, especially enterprise trade unions. non-state sector.
The unit will also focus on doing a good job of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions, striving to achieve the targets assigned by the Provincial Labor Federation. In addition, the unit will organize professional training on trade union work for grassroots trade union officials to consolidate and build organizations and staff to meet task requirements in the new situation.
"Industry trade unions also participate in resolving complaints and denunciations, focusing on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers" - Mr. Hung added.
