After the Tet holiday, Mr. Chang Mi Tua, Can Ty commune (Quan Ba district) prepared the necessary items to return to the job he has been doing stably for more than half a year. Currently, Mr. Tua is earning over 20 million VND/month in a unit of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group in Quang Ninh.
“Without counseling, career guidance, and vocational training, I would still be working in the fields with a meager income. In 2022, through the introduction of Quan Ba district, I went to study at the Vietnam College of Coal and Minerals and was immediately assigned a job. Thanks to a stable job, I was able to save money to repair my house and take care of my family,” Tua confided.
In recent years, Quan Ba district and Vietnam Coal and Minerals College have been very successful in vocational training and job creation. From 2018 to present, each year the school has recruited from 50 to 80 people in Quan Ba district to study and work at the group.
Mr. Tran Cong Duc - admissions specialist of Vietnam Coal and Minerals College - said that job fairs organized by localities are opportunities for recruitment consulting units to promote and mobilize workers to study and work at the group.
“Students are exempted from 100% of tuition fees, supported with accommodation, trained in a professional environment and have an attractive salary of 18 - 25 million VND/person/month after graduation” - Mr. Duc informed.
In addition, Quan Ba district has opened 33 vocational training classes with 1,150 students participating, focusing on occupations suitable to local needs such as raising and supplying products from buffalo, cows, horses, cooking, eco-tourism and community, and repairing agricultural machinery.
Mr. Do Quang Dung - Vice Chairman of Quan Ba District People's Committee - said that vocational training and job creation have made an important contribution to poverty reduction and improving the socio-economic life of people, especially ethnic minorities in the area.
“In the coming time, we will continue to focus on vocational training for rural workers, equipping them with knowledge and professional skills. Especially joint ventures and partnerships with units and employers so that workers after vocational training have the opportunity to find suitable jobs,” said Mr. Dung.
In 2024 alone, Ha Giang province created jobs for over 30,500 workers, exceeding the plan by 167%. Of which, 13,800 people were recruited for vocational training, with a variety of occupations, from short-term elementary to intermediate and college levels, with the rate of trained workers reaching 60%.
Vocational training linked to market needs was identified by this locality from the beginning when the labor sector proactively surveyed the vocational training needs of more than 3,800 families and 50 businesses, thereby building a training program close to actual needs.
