On February 13, the Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor (LWF) said that it has directed trade unions at all levels to promptly encourage union members and workers to participate in military service in 2025.
The trade union has implemented many practical activities to encourage union members and workers to be exemplary in fulfilling their civic duties, registering for medical examination and military service.
The union also organized meetings, gave gifts, visited and encouraged them to feel secure in their mission to protect the Fatherland.
Ms. Pham Thi Le Dung - Vice President of Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in the 2025 military recruitment campaign, 19 union members and workers passed the recruitment exam.
These are all union members, currently working at enterprises in the province. Each person joining the army received a gift worth 1 million VND from the Provincial Federation of Labor.
“We not only meet and encourage them, but also support their families as a solid rear base, helping union members and workers feel secure when they join the army,” Ms. Pham Thi Le Dung shared.
In addition, trade unions at all levels have proactively worked with businesses to create favorable conditions for workers to join the army.
Enterprises have temporarily suspended the implementation of labor contracts and committed to re-hiring them after they complete their military service with appropriate treatment policies.
In addition to directly supporting union members and workers joining the army, the union also cares for and encourages children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances to join the army.
Mr. Tran Gia Bao - a worker at Thong Duc Joint Stock Company - expressed his excitement when the company's leaders and union supported him in registering and taking the military service examination.
He also received help with the procedure for suspending his labor contract to ensure his fulfillment of his obligations.
"I was very happy and proud to receive gifts and encouragement from the union before leaving for military service. I will try to train well in the military environment and return to work at the company after completing my mission," Tran Gia Bao shared.
