Phan Thiet Industrial Park (IP) is invested in two phases. Phase 1 has an area of 68 hectares, with a total investment of 48.2 billion VND. Infrastructure has been completed, attracting 39 secondary projects, with an occupancy rate of 100%.
The businesses here operate stably, and also have diverse industries such as: Food processing, agricultural products, seafood, garment, wood, paper, mechanics, construction materials, fertilizers, business and automobile repair.
This activity creates jobs for more than 4,700 workers, creating a stable source of income for many households.
Phan Thiet Industrial Park expansion (phase 2) was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in 2005, with an area of 40.7 hectares. The investor has basically completed the infrastructure. The occupancy rate is currently over 70%.
Enterprises in phase 2 focus on seafood processing, construction materials, production of cardboard, self-stick paper, fertilizers and fruit processing for export. This area creates jobs for more than 1,100 workers.
In general, Phan Thiet Industrial Park currently creates jobs for nearly 6,000 workers. This is a bright spot in socio-economic development, contributing to changing the face of the locality.
After the arrangement of commune-level administrative units, Phan Thiet Industrial Park is located in Binh Thuan ward and Ham Liem commune.
However, currently, only Binh Thuan ward has a ward union. Previously, grassroots trade unions in Phan Thiet Industrial Park were under the management of the Provincial Industrial Park Trade Union.
Ms. Le Huynh Thi Hoa Phuong - Chairwoman of Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union said that the unit was temporarily assigned to manage and direct 25 grassroots trade unions with 3,487 union members. Of which, many grassroots unions belong to enterprises in Phan Thiet Industrial Park.
Coordination between the locality and enterprises in Phan Thiet Industrial Park has been well implemented after the two-level local government came into operation. Coordination between local authorities and enterprises in industrial parks is maintained closely.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Duy - Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Ward People's Committee said that the ward has directed the police to support businesses in Phan Thiet Industrial Park in the ward in ensuring security and order, fire prevention and fighting, and rescue.
At the same time, it directs relevant agencies to continue to do a good job of environmental sanitation propaganda, raising awareness of preventing occupational accidents.
Local authorities also encourage businesses to focus on salary and bonus regimes, taking care of workers' health and working environment. Thanks to that, workers feel secure in their attachment, while businesses have the conditions to develop sustainably.
Phan Thiet Industrial Park has been put into operation, creating a positive impact, creating stable jobs for thousands of local workers. People's income has been significantly improved compared to traditional agricultural production, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving life and promoting urbanization.
Not only an industrial center, Phan Thiet Industrial Park has also become an important fulcrum in shifting the economic structure of the province, from agriculture to industry and services.
With the infrastructure increasingly upgraded and expanded, Phan Thiet Industrial Park continues to affirm its role as a driving force in Lam Dong's socio-economic development, especially in attracting investment, creating more jobs and expanding recruitment to mountainous communes.
