On February 14, Mr. Nguyen Van Qui - Chairman of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor - presented the Trade Union Shelter to Ms. Pham Thi My (a Trade Union member working at Quang Viet Long An Company Limited) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Toan (a Trade Union member working at ChingLuh Vietnam Shoes Company Limited).
Ms. Toan's Trade Union Shelter has a construction area of 60 m2, foundation, reinforced concrete columns, walls, corrugated iron roof, cement floor. The total construction cost was 135 million VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund in Long An supported 65 million VND, the rest was contributed by Ms. Toan's family and relatives.
Ms. My's Union Shelter has a construction area of over 100 m2, foundation, reinforced concrete pillars, walls, corrugated iron roof, cement floor. The total construction cost was 150 million VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Support Fund in Long An supported 50 million VND, the rest was contributed by Ms. My's family and relatives.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Qui - Chairman of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the Trade Union Shelter housing program has become one of the social activities with widespread influence, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and support, affirming the true value of the "home" of the Trade Union organization. The program has truly brought practical results, contributing positively to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and realizing the dream of settling down for workers.
Chairman of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Van Qui congratulated Ms. My and Ms. Toan's family on having a new house. At the same time, I also hope that the two sisters will continue to strive to improve their lives, accumulate to renovate the house to be more spacious and actively work at the unit, continuing to stick with the Trade Union organization.
Sharing the joy of receiving the Union Shelter, union member Pham Thi My said that because her family's income is still difficult, just enough to cover daily living, there is not enough money to build a house. When she learned that the Union supported her with some money to build a house, she felt very happy and joyful.
