Over 55 billion VND to support union members
On December 31, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor held the 6th Executive Committee meeting, term XIX, term 2023 - 2028 (expanded) to deploy union work tasks in 2025.
Chairwoman of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan said that the Provincial Federation of Labor is managing 15 direct superior trade unions, 1,151 grassroots trade unions, an increase of 21 grassroots trade unions compared to 2023; 1 public service unit, 1 trade union enterprise holding a controlling stake of 51% of charter capital.
The total number of workers, civil servants, and employees (CNVCLD) in the province is more than 64,000 people. Of which, the number of employees in local units and enterprises where there are trade unions under the management of the Provincial Federation of Labor is 54,252 people, the total number of union members is 52,260 people, accounting for 96.4%, a decrease of 1,596 union members compared to 2023.
In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor successfully organized the online contest "Learning about the traditions of Quang Binh Trade Union and the Resolution of the 19th Congress of Quang Binh Trade Union", attracting the participation of 28,164 union members and workers, with 46,395 entries. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor issued a decision to award certificates of merit to 6 collectives and certificates to 16 individuals who won prizes in the contest.
During the year, more than 38,436 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were supported and visited by trade unions at all levels in the province with a total amount of over VND 55,469 billion. Of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor directly supported nearly 8,750 union members with a total amount of over VND 8 billion, and supported the construction and repair of 28 "Union Shelters" worth VND 960 million in the programs.
Many programs are focused on by the Provincial Federation of Labor such as "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing", Workers' Month activities...
There are 4,122 topics and initiatives, generating a profit of 2.9 billion VND, effectively applied in practice, contributing to improving efficiency in production and work.
Striving to establish 81 grassroots unions
In addition to the achieved results, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor pointed out the remaining limitations, some units and enterprises held conferences for civil servants and employees, and conferences for workers with slow progress. There are still some enterprises with large social insurance arrears, which have been prolonged, affecting the settlement of legitimate rights of Vietnamese workers.
The collection of 2% union fees in enterprises that have not yet established a union organization is still ineffective. The number of units paying fees through the intermediary account of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is still small.
The application of information technology and the implementation of document management and operation systems in some trade unions at the grassroots level are still slow and ineffective.
Towards 2025, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor has put forward a number of plans, orientations, and new development of 3,716 or more union members, an actual increase of 2,500 union members; established at least 81 grassroots unions; 4 grassroots unions. Introduced 1,200 or more outstanding union members for the Party to consider, foster, and admit in places where resources are available.
100% of administrative and public sector trade unions coordinate with heads of agencies and units to organize conferences for civil servants; 100% of state-owned enterprises and 85% or more of non-state enterprises organize conferences for workers, and other democratic forms as prescribed by law.
85% or more of enterprises and units with trade unions organize dialogues at the workplace, conduct collective bargaining, and sign collective labor agreements, of which 15 or more new collective labor agreements are signed.
There are at least 150 grassroots trade unions in enterprises organizing Workers' Month activities in 2025...
