Giving 30,000 - 35,000 gifts to union members and workers
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Chairman of the Binh Tan District Labor Federation, Ho Chi Minh City - said that since September 2024, the District Labor Federation has completed a plan to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 for union members and workers with requirements such as the care being organized flexibly, diversely, and synchronously at all union levels in the district, covering all subjects, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances, all of whom are taken care of thoughtfully, fully, and promptly in the spirit of "Tet comes to all union members and workers, leaving no one behind".
The District Labor Federation has established 3 working groups headed by the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the District Labor Federation and assigned specialized staff to monitor and guide the grassroots trade unions at units with 30 or more employees to grasp the situation, thoughts, and public opinion among union members and employees regarding the plan to pay salaries, bonuses, and other related welfare regimes of the enterprise to union members and employees.
“During the Lunar New Year 2025, it is expected that the Binh Tan District Labor Federation will take care of 30,000 - 35,000 gifts with a budget of 10 to 10.5 billion VND, an increase of 2,400 gifts and an increase of 1 billion VND compared to the Lunar New Year 2004, to take care of union members and workers,” said Mr. Hai.
In particular, priority care is given to union members and employees who have suffered from work-related accidents or serious occupational diseases; union members, employees or their parents-in-law, husband or children who have incurable or serious illnesses and are being treated in hospital or receiving outpatient treatment at home; union members and employees who have lost their jobs due to difficulties in their businesses, having to reduce production and operations, dissolve, go bankrupt, or relocate to another location; pregnant female employees; union members raising children under 36 months old, etc.
Many practical care programs
Mr. Vo Khac Binh - Chairman of the District 7 Labor Federation, Ho Chi Minh City - said that up to now, the District Labor Federation has completed detailed programs to care for Tet for union members and workers in the district.
Some notable programs include: The program "Workers' Day - Charity Market" with the theme "encouraging cashless payment" will give away shopping vouchers worth 1 million VND/voucher to 400 workers; The program "Trade Union Tet Market" will give away more than 200 shopping vouchers (500,000 VND/voucher) to union members and workers; The program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Doan Ket" will give away gifts worth 1.8 million VND/portion (including 1.5 million VND in cash, 300,000 VND/portion) to 300 union members and workers' households in difficult circumstances.
District 7 Labor Federation also organized a meeting and gave gifts (worth 1 million VND/gift) to 90 union members in difficult circumstances, and gave gifts to 6 unions in the district.
Ms. Le Thi Bich Hanh - President of the District 5 Labor Federation, Ho Chi Minh City - said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the District Labor Federation also took care (1.8 million VND/family) of 300 union members and workers in difficult circumstances affected by storms and floods in the Northern provinces who were not eligible to return home for Tet (total amount of 540 million VND); gave gift vouchers (worth 1 million VND/voucher) to 300 union members and workers participating in the program "Workers' Festival - Charity Market" with an amount of 300 million VND; organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Doan Ket" to give gifts (worth 1 million VND/gift) to 400 union members and workers in difficult circumstances...
