On the afternoon of March 27, at the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Tri province, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to announce the decision to end the activities of the Provincial Industry and Trade Union.
Mr. Hoang Van Tuan - Chairman of the Provincial Industry and Trade Union said that the unit was established in June 2008 on the basis of merging the Industry and Trade - Tourism Trade Union.
Through 4 congress terms, the targets of the Congress Resolution for each term have been implemented by the Industry Union, exceeding the set level. The trade union organization has continuously strived to perform its functions well; the force of union members, workers and civil servants in the Industry and Trade sector has continuously grown and matured, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development tasks of the province and deserving to be the leading force in the period of industrialization - modernization of the homeland.
Currently, the Trade Union of Industry and Trade directly manages, guides and directs the activities of 34 grassroots trade unions with 2,076 union members. Compared to the first day of establishment, union members increased by 183%; grassroots unions increased by 126%; the rate of union members reached 91%.
Previously, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) issued decisions on ending the activities of the Civil Servants' Union, the Construction Trade Union and the Provincial Industry and Trade Union.
The end date of operation is March 28, 2025. Transfer 44 grassroots trade unions and agencies and units with 5,323 union members under the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union; transfer 35 grassroots trade unions with 1,654 union members under the Construction Trade Union and 34 grassroots trade unions with 2,076 union members under the Industry and Trade Trade Trade Union to the trade unions at the grassroots level directly under the new management and direction of operations.
Finance, assets, seals, records, archival documents and related issues of the Civil Servants' Union, Construction Trade Union and Provincial Industry and Trade Union shall be handed over to competent authorities according to regulations before April 12, 2025.
The termination of the activities of the Trade Union of Industry and Trade and the two units mentioned above is based on the Trade Union Law and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; Conclusion No. 690-KL/TU, dated January 23, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee on the Project to reorganize and streamline the apparatus of the Party agencies, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations at the provincial level and specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee; Official Dispatch No. 3460/TLD- ToC, dated February 26, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the arrangement of the apparatus of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor and the arrangement and establishment of trade unions at the grassroots level; Working regulations of the 13th Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee.
