Communication on population work for workers in Thai Binh

Thai Binh - Organized communication on population and family planning for 300 workers at Hualida Garment Company Limited.

On November 29, at Hualida Garment Company Limited (Phuc Khanh Industrial Park, Thai Binh City), Thai Binh Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Economic Zone and Industrial Park Trade Unions of the province to organize communication on population work, family planning, and reproductive health care for 300 union members and workers.

At the communication session, workers listened to Dr. Dang Duy Nien - Deputy Director of Vu Thu District Medical Center discuss and convey knowledge about population work in the new situation; the issue of gender imbalance at birth. At the same time, propagandize measures to prevent sexually transmitted diseases; reproductive health care; safe contraception methods and some common gynecological diseases in women.

Also at the communication session, the Department of Population and Family Planning of Thai Binh province presented 5,000 condoms to workers.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Dinh - Head of the Propaganda Department of Women's Union of Thai Binh Province Labor Federation said: "With the characteristics of enterprises, female workers often account for 85% of the labor force, so communication about population work and reproductive health for women is very necessary. On the other hand, because women do not have time to regularly go for medical examinations, through communication sessions, workers can gain more knowledge about population work, know how to prevent and fight common gynecological diseases, improve health care for themselves and everyone else".
