On March 9, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation said that in addition to taking care of the material life of union members and workers, trade union levels in the area also focus on improving spiritual life, parenting skills and building a safe family environment for workers.
In which, the program "Day of Connecting Parents and Children" is a typical activity, showing the concern of the Trade Union organization for fostering family relationships and caring for workers' children.
The program is organized at many factories with the participation of hundreds of children of workers and their parents. Here, families participate in many experiential activities, games and discussions.
Through these activities, parents and children have the opportunity to understand each other better, enhance listening skills, share and control emotions in the family.
According to summaries from implementing units, after being organized at 6 factories, the program has benefited nearly 3,000 people: 110 trade union officials and core workers were trained; more than 2,600 workers participated in online learning; 300 children directly participated in family-connecting activities.
Survey results show that more than 85% of parents change their behavior towards their children in a positive direction; over 80% of children clearly feel the care and listening from their parents. Many grassroots trade unions said that the atmosphere of union member families has become warmer, contributing to stabilizing psychology and improving labor efficiency.
In the coming time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation will continue to expand the program in industrial parks and enterprises with a large number of female and young workers. At the same time, strengthen propaganda and counseling activities to support union members in building happy and sustainable workers' families.
