On January 19, the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" to summarize and award prizes for activities in the "Union Tet Market" in 2025.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Chi - Permanent Vice President of Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor and Trade Unions at all levels in the province carried out many meaningful activities, paying special attention to caring for and protecting the rights of workers.
Visited and presented gifts to over 50,000 workers in difficult circumstances and those involved in work-related accidents; supported 72 union members and workers to build "Union Shelters"; awarded 30 scholarships to children of workers in difficult circumstances; presented nearly 23,000 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts with a total cost of over 12 billion VND.
Continuing to take care of union members in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year 2025, from January 2025, the Standing Committee of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor organized the "Union Tet Market" in 2025 and the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Thanks to the Party" for workers and laborers in the province to welcome a joyful spring.
The Provincial Labor Federation presented 2,000 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, visited and encouraged union members and workers who were being treated for serious illnesses and work-related accidents, organized the "Tet Sum Vay" program, presented 6 "Union Shelter" houses... with a total cost of over 2 billion VND", the Standing Vice President of the Tra Vinh Labor Federation added.
Ms. Tran Thi Cam Quyen - a union member of Tra Vinh Industrial Park - was moved to say that she felt warm and encouraged when receiving the gift, especially in the context of life's many difficulties.
The Tet gifts from the Union help her and everyone feel the solidarity, care and support for each other in the working community. This is also an opportunity for them to bond more with their colleagues, while encouraging them to work harder and more enthusiastically in the new year.
"This feeling of joy comes not only from the value of the gift but also from the affection and encouragement that the Union brings, helping workers feel that they are not alone in life, especially when Tet comes and Spring comes," said Ms. Quyen.
At the program, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee - highly appreciated the activities of the trade union organization to take care of Tet for union members and workers in the past time, ensuring the motto "All union members and workers have Tet, enjoy Tet".
"In the coming time, it is recommended that trade unions at all levels continue to carry out activities to care for union members, workers, and laborers in difficulty, focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, contributing to building increasingly strong unions, and workers continue to trust and accompany to build increasingly strong trade union organizations....", Mr. Thien emphasized.
At the program, the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded symbolic signs of 6 Trade Union Shelters to union members and employees at the units. Presented gifts to 200 union members and employees; 30 students with difficult circumstances who strive to excel in their studies; summarized and awarded prizes for the booth decoration contest at the "Trade Union Tet Market" and the Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba performance contest in 2025.
