Many practical care activities
The programs in the Workers' Month activities in Tra Vinh province in recent years have brought many practical results.
As in the case of Ms. Tien Thi Viet Phuong - a garment worker in Tra Vinh city - who has had to live in a small rented house with her family for more than 10 years. Ms. Phuong said that she always dreams of a stable home, but the cost of living and monthly rent make her life more difficult.
That dream came true when she was awarded the Trade Union Shelter in Workers' Month 2024. The new house is not only a place to shelter from the sun and rain but also a motivation for her to work with peace of mind and build a better life.

"I no longer have to worry about rent, I have a house and my life is much more stable. I am grateful to the Union for helping me have this shelter," Ms. Phuong emotionally shared.
Along with the joy of being cared for by trade unions at all levels, many workers in Tra Vinh also feel practical attention through improving shift meals.
The case of Mr. Le Thanh Hung and his wife - workers at TV.Pharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company - is a proof. Mr. Hung said that in the past, people had to prepare lunch themselves, which took time and effort.
"The Company's Trade Union has proposed switching from food support to organizing direct shift meals at the company. This proposal was agreed upon by the Company's Board of Directors and implemented right in Workers' Month," Mr. Hung added.
From Workers' Month to long-term action
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam - Chairman of the Trade Union of TV.Pharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company - said that the policy of organizing shift meals at the company has received a positive response from employees.
This helps workers not have to worry about preparing lunch, have more time to rest and ensure their health to work better.
"This is a practical activity that the Trade Union has coordinated with the Company to carry out, showing concern for the lives of union members," Mr. Tam added.

Talking to Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the highest goal of Workers' Month is to bring practical and sustainable benefits to workers.
According to Ms. Chung, in 2024, 77 Trade Union Shelters were donated to workers with housing difficulties, while Workers' Month alone supported the construction of 18 new houses. The awarding of the Trade Union Shelter helps workers stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
In 2024, 46 Trade Unions will organize Union Meals with more than 7,000 union members benefiting, with meal values ranging from 25,000 VND to 72,000 VND. Improving meals for workers not only helps them save costs but also improves their health and working spirit.
"These meaningful activities will not only stop during Workers' Month but will continue to be maintained and expanded, becoming an important part of caring for the lives of workers in the province," Ms. Chung emphasized.
