On June 25, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor held the 5th Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee Conference (Term XI), term 2023 - 2028.
The report at the conference showed that in the first 6 months of 2025, trade unions at all levels achieved many positive results in representing, caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of union members and workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My Dung - Acting President of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that trade unions at all levels have supported nearly 88,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with over 76.5 billion VND. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, many practical activities such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang", giving gifts, supporting train and bus tickets, art festivals... brought a joyful and warm atmosphere to each worker and laborer.
Representative work and protection of rights are also focused on. The Trade Union has organized supervision and coordination in inspections at many enterprises, negotiated to increase the value of shift meals at 10 enterprises, ensuring good implementation of grassroots democracy in 795 units to 100%. Legal consultancy supports more than 6,700 employees.
Regarding organization, the union has developed 13 more grassroots unions, admitting 4,604 new union members. However, the rate of developing union members and introducing outstanding union members to the Party has not yet met expectations. Some units are still limited in communication at the grassroots level and implementing key targets.
In the direction of the last 6 months of the year, the Provincial Federation of Labor determined to continue improving the quality of grassroots activities; focus on solving problems related to unpaid wages and social insurance; effectively promoting union member welfare programs; organizing activities on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28); strengthening communication and social criticism work; perfecting the organization in the spirit of streamlining the apparatus in a streamlined and efficient manner.
"Vinh Long Trade Union also aims to develop union members in conjunction with organizing practical activities, better protecting workers in the non-state sector - where there are many potential risks to labor relations" Ms. Dung added.
On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor with emulation flags.
