Ms. Nguyen Thi My Dung - Acting President of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in the first 6 months of 2025, Vinh Long Provincial Trade Unions at all levels developed 4,604 new union members, established 13 grassroots unions and informal unions, contributing to raising the total number of union members in the province to more than 96,000 people.
This is the result of efforts to propagate and mobilize workers to join the organization, while affirming the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the rights of the Trade Union in the context of many fluctuations in the labor market.
According to Ms. Dung, activities to develop union members and build a strong union organization continue to be identified as a key task in 2025.
Despite many difficulties due to the situation of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus and labor fluctuations in some enterprises, the Trade Unions at all levels still strive to maintain connections, increase access to workers through welfare programs, direct propaganda at the workplace and organize many practical care activities.
The admission of thousands of new union members shows that the trust of workers in the Trade Union organization is increasingly strengthened. The trade union will continue to accompany workers and laborers not only in protecting their rights but also supporting them to improve their lives, skills and attachment to the enterprise.
In the coming time, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor aims to develop a real increase in union members, establish more grassroots unions in non-state enterprises, and introduce outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission.
"At the same time, the Trade Union organization will strengthen training and fostering grassroots trade union officials, ensuring a team with sufficient capacity to represent the voice of workers," added the Acting President of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor.
