Stage 1 of the SEA V.Cup 2026 women's volleyball tournament officially kicks off today (July 31) at Dong Anh Gymnasium (Hanoi) with two opening matches of the group stage.
In the first match at 4:00 PM, the Indonesian team will face Thailand. This is a remarkable match when Thailand is always considered the top candidate for the championship, while Indonesia aims to create a surprise right on the opening day.
The highlight of the competition day is the confrontation between the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and the Philippines taking place at 7:00 PM. Playing at home, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team set a goal to win to have a favorable start in the journey to conquer the championship.
The Vietnamese team brought a strong force to the tournament with many experienced faces such as Thanh Thuy, Bich Thuy, Khanh Dang, Le Thanh Thuy, Nhu Quynh and Vi Yen Nhi. After winning third place at AVC Cup 2026, the whole team is expected to improve their performance and take advantage of the home field to compete for titles.
