This week, two representatives of Vietnam, Nam Dinh Steel Club and Hanoi Police, will officially enter the AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026 campaign.
Accordingly, Nam Dinh will have an early start when hosting Ratchaburi (Thailand) at Thien Truong Stadium at 7:15 p.m. on September 17. The team from Thanh Nam has made a quality investment last summer when bringing in up to 11 foreign players. Notable among them is Kyle Hudlin - a 2.06 m tall striker who played in the English First Division, or the former U20 Brazil goalkeeper - Caique.
In addition, the team from Thanh Nam also has a squad of quality domestic players such as Nguyen Manh, Hoang Anh, Van Vi and overseas Vietnamese player Kevin Pham Ba. With an even force in all three lines, coach Vu Hong Viet and his team have a basis to aim for all 3 points, especially when opponent Ratchaburi is not a top name in the Thai League.
Meanwhile, Hanoi Police will visit Beijing Guoan (China) on September 18. This is the first time the Police team has participated in the AFC Champions League Two playground as the reigning National Cup champion.
Beijing Guoan has fought for many years in the AFC Champions League (Asian Cup C1) and last season ranked 4th in the Chinese national championship. They have 6 foreign players with extensive international experience, promising to be a quality test for coach Polking and his team on the day of their debut in the continental arena.
AFC Champions League Two match schedule of the two Vietnamese teams:
19:15 on September 17: Nam Dinh - Ratchaburi
19:15 on September 18: Beijing Guoan - Hanoi Police
