76-year-old is about to have a new house thanks to the Fatherland Front
In the joyful and exciting atmosphere towards the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day and the National Great Unity Day, I returned to the religious village in Huong My residential group, Ha Huy Tap ward to feel more clearly the warmth and joy of the people here.
After a few days of flooding, now the sun is warm again, the construction team has returned to work, painting to complete the "Great Unity" house that the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Lam Huong Ward mobilized construction funds for Mr. Pham Tuong's household (76 years old). The noise and laughter and humor between the group of construction workers, the homeowner and the neighbors coming to play betel and drink the bustling water were heard clearly from the alley.
Mr. Tuong excitedly shared that his family's circumstances are difficult, he is a family with a policy of martyrs' worship, so from the family's wishes and the proposal of the Village Front Working Committee, the Ha Huy Tap Ward Fatherland Front Committee mobilized a support fund of 60 million VND for him to build this Great Unity house.
From that support source, he had the motivation to borrow more and then started building the house in mid-August 2025, and has basically finished the rough construction. It is expected that in a few months, it will be completed to have a new house to live in before Tet.
Previously, my 3-room wooden house was damaged by termites, and when it rained, it leaked and leaked, making it unsafe to live in. With the attention and support of the Fatherland Front, my family is very happy and grateful to have built this new house," Mr. Tuong shared.
The house that Mr. Tuong's family is building has three bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen, and is estimated to cost about 300 million VND when completed. Mr. Tuong said that his second son tried to save up the remaining debt and pay it back gradually. In the near future, having a new house to live in is a very happy family.
"Seeing Mr. Tuong's family about to have a new house, I was very happy for him. It must be said that the program of building Great Unity houses for the poor and disadvantaged of the Fatherland Front is very meaningful and practical, said Mr. Pham Tran (68 years old, Mr. Tuong's neighbor).

Humanity builds the house of great solidarity
More than a few hundred meters from Mr. Tuong's house, the Great Unity house of Ms. Pham Thi My (60 years old) has been completed and moved into since September 2025. This is the house that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Lam Huong ward mobilized 50 million VND to build for poor and single households.
Ms. My - shared that knowing she was supported with 50 million to build a new house, the brothers, the people and the neighbors were very excited and encouraged her to be determined to build a new house and help her as much as they needed, they would help more with the spirit of "whoever has property helps, whoever has merit helps".
From those concerns and encouragement, in June 2025, Ms. My started construction of a new house. During the house construction process, a neighbor's family gave Ms. My many old wooden doors to repair into her new house.
"They gave me so many that my small family could not use half of those doors. Through the campaign of the Residential Group Front Working Committee, many people also donated to help me with an additional 10 million in cash. In addition, the construction team of relatives helped prevent the workers from getting about 20 million VND. Thanks to that help, I am less worried about debt. I am truly grateful to the Fatherland Front, the brothers, sisters and villagers for supporting me to have this new house," Ms. My confided.
Mrs. My's health is not good, she lives alone and can only rely on a few soums of rice fields to grow and sell every day. Having a new house is a dream of a woman in her 60s for decades. Now her dream has come true, so she believes that she will live happily, meaningfully, well-off, beautifully, always preserving the solidarity of the brothers and sisters in the village for the rest of her life.

Community unity, helping each other to rise up
Mr. Tran Huu Tam - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Huong My Residential Group - shared that Huong My Residential Group is a parish area with 146 households and 557 people. Of which, parishioners account for more than 97%. The whole village currently has 4 poor households and 3 near-poor households.
According to Mr. Tam, in recent years, thanks to the legitimate aspirations of the people and the proposal of the Front Work Committee, the entire Huong My residential group has had 12 households given solidarity houses. Most recently, in 2025, 2 households were given houses, Ms. Pham Thi My's household and Mr. Pham Tuong's household. Of which, Mrs. My's family has finished the house and moved in for a few months, while Mr. Tuong's family is in the process of completing the house.
It must be affirmed that the program of building great solidarity houses for the poor and disadvantaged of the Fatherland Front is very practical, meaningful and humane. Thanks to such houses built in this parish, parishioners understand more the care and concern of the Party, the State, the Fatherland Front, organizations, organizations and individuals who are kind to their lives. From there, they have more trust, love, live well and be beautiful, Mr. Tam acknowledged.
As Head of the Front Work Committee for 21 years, Mr. Tam has been very dedicated and responsible in his work, all for the solidarity and development of the people.
"Currently, our residential group still has 2 disadvantaged households, qualified to receive solidarity houses, I hope that the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels will pay attention and call for funding to support them in building houses and ensuring their stability," Mr. Tam shared.
Implementing the policy of building new rural areas, in recent years, the people of Huong My residential group have joined hands, wholeheartedly contributed to expanding rural roads, renovating ornamental gardens, developing livestock and crop models to bring efficiency. Thereby, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of this religious group.
Ms. Pham Thi Luc - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Huy Tap Ward - said that in recent years, Ha Huy Tap Ward has received great attention for hunger eradication, poverty reduction, building solidarity houses, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
Thereby, more than 200 poor households and those in difficult circumstances have been supported with housing, including dozens of houses belonging to the Great Unity house group. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, 31 houses under many different programs were donated with a total estimated of more than 1.9 billion VND for the poor.
"We are very happy that recently, many households in the ward have received housing support. The great solidarity houses were built to help many difficult circumstances so that they can rise up in life," Ms. Luc shared.
