Ninh Kieu ward has just been established on the basis of merging 3 wards of Tan An, Thoi Binh, Xuan Khanh. This is the economic, political, cultural and social center of Can Tho City.
During the 2020-2025 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has effectively implemented emulation movements and campaigns, actively contributing to the construction of new rural areas, civilized urban areas and socio-economic development. 34 projects and practical work sections have been launched and registered with a total value of more than 6.5 billion VND.
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind", the Ward Front and the Mobilization Committee of the "For the Poor" Fund have mobilized and practically cared for poor households, near-poor and disadvantaged groups.
As a result, 11 new Great Unity houses were built and 1 house was repaired, with a total value of 698 million VND; 6,550 gifts and 29,440 kg of rice were given on the occasion of Lunar New Year; 232 gifts were given to Khmer people for the Lunar New Year and Sene Dolta holiday; taking care of children with 434 gifts on the occasion of International Day of Children. In addition, the Front also mobilized 1.44 billion VND for the "For the Poor" Fund and 504.95 million VND to support people affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi).
The activities of "Retribution" and care for the material and spiritual life of policy families and meritorious people are organized regularly and promptly.
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao praised the achieved results and suggested that for the 2025-2030 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Kieu Ward should strengthen great solidarity and mobilize all resources to successfully implement the Congress Resolution. Focus on effectively implementing campaigns and emulation movements launched by the Front, with the motto "Form of concentration, practical content; drastic action, real effectiveness", focusing on tasks of building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction.
It is necessary to innovate the activities of the nearly-people, close-people, modern Front; apply information technology; promote the role of prestigious people in the community; create consensus on the implementation of key projects and works, improve supervision, social criticism, care for people's lives, especially poor households and disadvantaged people.
At the Congress, delegates agreed that the number of members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward for the 2025-2030 term was 60, elected 58 members, and had 2 shortcomings. The first meeting of the democratic bargaining session elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Kieu Ward.
