The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has just approved a project to reorganize and streamline the Vietnam Fatherland Front agencies, socio-political organizations, and associations assigned by the Party and the State in sync with the arrangement and consolidation of provincial and commune-level administrative units of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front after the arrangement (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Binh Duong province, Ho Chi Minh City).
Accordingly, the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City will be held right after the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
The structure of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City includes: Chairman; Permanent Vice Chairman; 1 Vice Chairman who is also Chairman of the Labor Federation; 1 Vice Chairman who is also Chairman of the Farmers' Association; 1 Vice Chairman who is also Chairman of the Women's Union; 1 Vice Chairman who is also Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; 1 Vice Chairman who is also Chairman of the Veterans' Association.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City is concurrently appointed by a Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City is structure to participate in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City is the head of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Vice Chairmen and heads of provincial-level socio-political organizations are the deputy heads of the agencies.
The Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has 10 departments, including: Office; Organizing and Inspection Committee; Committee for Democracy, Supervision and Social Criticism; Trade Union Working Committee; Farmers' Work Committee; Youth Union and Children's Work Committee; Women's Work Committee; Veterans' Work Committee; Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee; Social Work Committee.
For the group of public service units in the cultural sector, when merging and consolidating provincial-level administrative units, these units will be transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee (new). After that, the Standing Committee of the (new) Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will review and arrange accordingly.
Transfer the District Children's Houses and Labor Culture Houses to the Commune People's Committees at the location of the headquarters.
Research and propose to arrange the Lao Student dormitory to transfer to the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials. Public service units in the training sector such as vocational secondary and vocational training institutions will be transferred to the Department of Education and Training.
Dissolve vocational training schools for union work, transfer functions to Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials. Public service units in the field of science and technology will be transferred to the Department of Science and Technology.
Public service units in the social sector such as social work centers, consulting and support centers... will be transferred to the cultural public service units after the arrangement.
