On June 20, the 12th Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term 2024 - 2029, held the 4th Conference in District 1. The conference was attended by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Trung, Pham Minh Tuan, Ngo Thanh Son and representatives of the Front units in the city. This is an important event, marking a transformation of the Front's work in the context of Ho Chi Minh City preparing to merge administrative boundaries with Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Binh Duong province.
At the conference, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, provided detailed information on the results of the Front's work in the first 6 months of the year, the results of the organizational arrangement and key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2025, the Fatherland Front system at all levels of Ho Chi Minh City and its member organizations have proactively developed and implemented the 2025 Coordination and Union action Program with many flexible forms, closely following the practical situation. The survey, supervision and thematic inspection work was carried out promptly to evaluate the effectiveness, adjust the work program appropriately, meet the requirements of political tasks and the tasks of the Front, and achieve many impressive results.

Accordingly, the Front has actively organized activities to care for people's lives during the Lunar New Year 2025; enthusiastically implemented activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. In particular, the work of inspecting the mobilization and management of funds "For the Poor", "For the Sea and Islands of the Homeland - For the Frontline of the Fatherland" and relief support sources was focused on. A proud highlight is that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has been honored to receive the noble title of Labor Hero.
Also at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, announced the decision to end the operation of the current Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and establish a new Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will officially cease operations from June 30, 2025. This decision was made in the context that Ho Chi Minh City will merge with Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Binh Duong province to form the new Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the new Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will be officially established and put into operation from July 1, 2025, ready for a new, stronger development period of the city and the Front work.
