Dr. Luong Bach Van - former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized the above at the meeting of Party and State leaders with representatives of all classes of people held on August 24.
Dr. Luong Bach Van said that she left Vietnam to return to France to reunite with her mother in 1960.
"When I left Vietnam at the airport, I remember the image of buildings with layers of zinc and barbed wrap, and army cars densely packed all over the streets. I left my hometown, when the country was at war, people's lives were very miserable. I wish that when I come to France, I must try to acquire basic knowledge, study well so that I can later return to contribute to my homeland" - Dr. Luong Bach Van emotionally recalled.
After 18 years of living and working in France, Dr. Luong Bach Van and her family were able to return home to work, participating with a team of domestic science and technology experts, implementing a number of urgent projects to serve their lives and economy. When his professional term expired, he was assigned by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to implement Resolution 36-NQ/TW on work for overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, where there are more than half of the country's overseas Vietnamese.
Dr. Luong Bach Van shared that after 40 years of renovation, the country has achieved remarkable achievements, Vietnam has accumulated enough position and strength for breakthrough development to enter a new era with the determination that by 2030, it will become a developed country with modern industry, bringing prosperity and happiness to the people.
Dr. Luong Bach Van expressed her emotion when working for overseas Vietnamese is valued and trusted by the State.
"The team of overseas Vietnamese scientists, intellectuals and entrepreneurs will be an important resource contributing to helping the country shorten the path to socialism and breakthrough development to become a high-income country with a prosperous and happy life for the people" - former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said.
