On October 3, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) held a consultation conference with socio-political organizations to agree on the contents of the 2026 social supervision and criticism plan of the Central Committee of the VFF.

Presenting the plan for supervision and social criticism of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in 2026, Ms. Nguyen Quynh Lien - Head of the Committee for Democracy, Supervision and Social criticism - said that the implementation of supervision and social criticism must thoroughly grasp and meet the requirements in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; Conclusion No. 19-KL/TW dated October 14, 2021 of the Politburo on the Project to orient the Law Development Program for the 15th National Assembly term; Directive No. 18-CT/TW dated October 26, 2022 of the Secretariat on promoting the role, improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.
In addition, the organization of the implementation of social supervision and criticism activities must ensure the principles and regulations of the law, unify the entire system of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the central to the grassroots level; not affect the normal operations of agencies and organizations subject to supervision and agencies and organizations in charge of drafting documents that are subject to social criticism.
In addition, continue to innovate the content and methods of social supervision and criticism, proactively and promptly monitor and criticise early, from the grassroots, select subjects, monitoring content, and social criticism with focus and key points, focusing on major and priority policies and strategies of the Party and State, issues directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people; promote the application of information technology in monitoring and criticism activities...

According to the plan, in 2026, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will supervise many contents, including supervision of digital transformation, application of science and technology, comprehensive innovation in handling administrative procedures, providing public services in localities when implementing the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units and the implementation of the 2-level local government model.
Along with that, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front supervises the implementation of democracy at the grassroots level (associated with supervision of the responsibility of heads according to Regulation No. 124); continues to supervise the implementation of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas in 2026; supervise the implementation of the National Target Program for New Rural Development, Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2026 - 2035; supervise a number of complaints and denunciations when factual requirements are required...
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also participates in supervising the National Assembly's Supervisory Delegations, the National Assembly Standing Committee and relevant agencies.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will chair a social review of a number of draft laws in the plan.
At the conference, representatives of leaders of socio-political organizations gave their opinions on the contents of supervision and social criticism of their organizations in 2026.
The opinions say that the monitoring and criticism plan needs to be implemented specifically, closely coordinated, ensuring quality and progress according to requirements. The implementation process needs to ensure efficiency, economy, avoid waste, avoid overlap in the area and subjects of the Supervisory Teams; improve the quality of social criticism for the legislative process and supervise the implementation of the law.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the coordination of the Front and socio-political organizations, member organizations of the Front, create a mechanism to mobilize the participation of members of the Advisory Council, experts, scientists, people with practical experience and the participation of the people.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that it is necessary to focus on monitoring hot issues that people are concerned about; at the same time, emphasizing the value, effectiveness, strength, and influence of supervision work.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - emphasized that supervision work must be streamlined, compact, effective, focused, not dispersed.
Regarding the plan to monitor the National Target Programs, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy suggested that the monitoring of this program should be re-studyed, focusing on 1 focal point and 1 host agency.
The Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front requested socio-political organizations to clarify the time, location, and agency of the Chairman and coordination in supervision in 2026.
Along with that, promote the application of information technology in social supervision and criticism activities. After supervision, social criticism must be clear, specific, and highly convincing; ensuring objectivity, publicity, effectiveness, substance, and constructiveness.
