Women in border areas often face many difficulties due to economic conditions, infrastructure and geographical distance. Therefore, caring for and supporting women and children in border areas is always identified by the Quang Tri Provincial Women's Union as one of the key tasks to effectively implement gender equality goals, ensure social security and contribute to maintaining border security.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Associations at all levels mobilized many resources to implement programs towards border areas, taking care of members, women and children in difficult circumstances. Separately, activities to care for women, children, policy families and border communes have a total implementation cost of over 7.5 billion VND.
Notably, the "Accompanying Border Women" Program continues to be implemented with a total mobilized resource of over 1.9 billion VND. Not only providing material support, the program also aims to create livelihoods, improve living conditions and help women in border areas gradually stabilize their lives.
The Provincial Women's Union has coordinated with the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Border Guard Command to organize the program "Warm Spring - Reunion Tet" in A Doi commune and "Border Guard Spring - Warming People's Hearts" in Kim Phu commune. With a total budget of more than 400 million VND, many meaningful activities have been implemented such as giving Tet gifts, supporting livelihood models, and organizing "0 VND" booths to serve people in border areas.

The Tet atmosphere in border communes is therefore warmer when many difficult families receive practical gifts, necessities, plant varieties, livestock and production development support models. This is not only immediate support but also contributes to creating conditions for women to have more livelihoods and gradually increase income.
Not only at the provincial level, grassroots level associations also proactively organize many programs towards border women suitable to the actual conditions of each locality. Activities are implemented in a variety of ways, from visiting, giving gifts, supporting production, repairing houses to encouraging members in particularly difficult circumstances.
Especially, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Associations at all levels implemented many activities to care for the lives of members according to the motto "not leaving any members or women behind". From reviewing the circumstances of each household to mobilizing socialized resources, the Associations at all levels have awarded thousands of gifts with a total budget of over 5.3 billion VND.
The Provincial Women's Union alone organized working delegations to visit, encourage and give gifts to 641 Union officials through periods, women's union members in particularly difficult circumstances and orphans with a total budget of more than 325 million VND.
Social security care activities not only help women and children reduce immediate difficulties but also contribute to consolidating the confidence of members in the Association organization. Through this, the Quang Tri Provincial Women's Union continues to affirm its role as a bridge to mobilize social resources, spread the spirit of sharing, contributing to the effective implementation of the goal of gender equality, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in border areas.
In the coming time, the Association will continue to maintain and replicate programs accompanying border women, combining supporting livelihoods, caring for life, improving capacity and creating conditions for border women to proactively develop the economy, build prosperous and happy families and contribute to firmly maintaining sovereignty and border security.
