Opening the first working day of the Congress, Mr. Phan Nhu Nguyen - Standing Vice Chairman of the 8th Central Executive Committee of the Association said that, implementing Directive No. 48-CT/TW, dated June 24, 2025 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on leading the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels towards the National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026 - 2031 and the Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; with the consent of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, and central organizations, today the 8th Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association convenes the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, term 2026 - 2031 from June 7 to June 8, 2026 to evaluate the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association (from the beginning of the term to now); discuss and decide on directions, goals, and tasks of the Association's work and the farmers' movement for the 2026
On the first working day today, in the morning, the Congress will elect the Presidium and Secretariat of the Congress; elect the Committee for thẩm tra (verification/appraisal) of delegate qualifications; discuss and approve the Program and Working Regulations of the Congress; discuss and vote to approve the Report on the results of thẩm tra (verification/appraisal) of delegate qualifications; draft Review Report of the 8th Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union;
Submission on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and draft Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Notice of the Decision to establish Discussion Centers at the centers.
In the afternoon, delegates will listen to a summary report, receive and explain opinions contributed to the Charter of the Association; discuss and vote to approve the Charter of the 9th Vietnam Farmers' Union; and elect the 9th Executive Committee.
