Right from its inception until now, throughout the process of leading the Vietnamese revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam has steadfastly followed the path of great national unity, considering it both a goal and a source of decisive power to successfully carry out the revolution. The Party always identifies maintaining internal solidarity as the vital principle in Party building work. Many thematic resolutions promoting the strength of great solidarity through each period have been issued by our Party. A typical example is Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, the 7th Central Conference of the 9th tenure (2003) which set out the task of " promouring the strength of great national unity for a rich people, strong country, fair society, democracy, and civilization". Or as Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW, the 8th Central Conference of the 13th tenure (2023) on continuing to promote the tradition and strength of national solidarity, building our country to become more and more prosperous and happy.
Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW affirms: "Great national unity is a precious tradition, an important and consistent strategic guiding line of the Party; a great source of strength, a decisive factor in the successful cause of building and defending the Fatherland". The Resolution also clearly states the viewpoint: "Aiming to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam; becoming a developed country with high income by 2045 as a similar point to encourage and motivate the people to unanimously and jointly implement it for the future of the nation and the happiness of the people".
The content of great national unity continues to be affirmed and emphasized in the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress. One of the 5 lessons learned after 40 years of renovation clearly states the lesson of thoroughly grasping and practicing the viewpoint of "People are the root". Promote the role of the subject, the central position of the people... Strengthen and effectively promote the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc.
One of the guiding viewpoints on building and developing the country in the coming period clearly states: Promoting the strength, bravery and intelligence of the Vietnamese people, the great national unity bloc and the people's heart position; combining national strength with the strength of the times; proactively, resolutely, and persistently fighting to firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country; protecting the Fatherland early and from afar.
