On November 17, the South Central Mobile Police Regiment mobilized 50 officers, soldiers and necessary equipment to flooded and vulnerable areas in Tay Nha Trang ward to support people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (46 years old), residing in Tay Nha Trang ward, has just brought some clothes for her child to escape the flood. "My house is often flooded every time the Cai River floods. However, this time the water was big and rose very quickly. Fortunately, there was a rescue team to help move the items up high," said Ms. Duyen.

In Dien Dien commune and many other areas in the old Dien Khanh commune, since the morning of November 17, the river water has risen, causing many houses to be deeply flooded.
Mr. Vo Minh Tim, Head of Village 1, Dien Dien Commune, said that the rescue force received many calls for help. "We had to race with the water to get people out of the danger zone," Mr. Tim added.

On the same afternoon, during the rescue process, Mr. Tim and the authorities promptly discovered and rescued 3 people whose boat capsized.
Since the afternoon of November 17, police, militia of communes and wards and grassroots security forces across Khanh Hoa province have been mobilized to vulnerable areas to support the evacuation of people.
In Phuoc Hau commune, the commune police leader said that prolonged heavy rain caused many reservoirs to release floodwaters suddenly, causing river and stream water levels to rise and cause widespread flooding.

The commune police mobilized all forces to coordinate the evacuation of more than 100 households in Ninh Quy 2 and Ninh Quy 3 villages.
About 20 households are still isolated, and authorities are approaching to bring people to safety before the water continues to rise on the evening of November 17.


According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, heavy rain in the past two days has caused 22/64 communes and wards to be flooded from 0.21.5m. By 3:00 p.m. on November 17, localities had evacuated about 300 households from deeply flooded areas at risk of landslides.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the flood level on the Cai Nha Trang River is currently decreasing rapidly. At 7:00 p.m. on November 17, the water level of the Cai River at Dong Trang hydrological station was 9.27m, 0.23m below alert level 2; at Dien Phu station was 6.05m, 0.55m above alert level 3.
On Dinh Ninh Hoa River, the water level at 7:00 p.m. at Ninh Hoa station reached 5.22m, 0.22m above alert level 2.
On Cai Phan River, the flood level drops slowly. The water level at 7:00 p.m. at Tan My hydrological station was 37.16 m, 0.34 m below alert level 3; at Phan Rang station was 4.45 m, 0.05 m below alert level 3.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on Cai Nha Trang River in Dong Trang will continue to recede slowly; at Dien Phu station, the warning level will be maintained at 3 in the next few hours. Other rivers and streams in the province are likely to maintain floods at alert level 2.
