Throughout the past 80 years, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and its predecessors have continuously consolidated the great national unity bloc.

On August 24, leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) met with outstanding delegates representing all classes of people.

Speaking at the meeting, Venerable Thich Duc Thien - Vice President, General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - said that the beliefs and worship subjects of each religion may be different, but all Vietnamese religions have one Fatherland Mother to build and commit to serving. Among the great achievements of the country over the past 80 years, there have been great contributions from all classes of people, from all faiths, including Buddhism. With the tradition of integrating the family religion, worshiping patriotism, protecting national security, and accompanying the nation, Buddhism has accompanied the Vietnamese revolution since the early days.

Venerable Thich Duc Thien said that today, our country is entering a new historical journey, setting new, higher requirements, both a new turning point and a new historic opportunity for the cause of national construction and development and national defense in the era of rising up with the vision of becoming a developed country. In that context, continuing the tradition of patriotism and deeply absorbed by the world, Vietnamese Buddhism is determined to implement the motto: "Loyalty - Ethnicity - Socialism" and focus on the following goals:

Continuously arouse and promote the spirit of "People's security - Accompanying the nation" of Vietnamese Buddhism. Fortifying and practicing Buddhism, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha constantly promotes the spirit of patriotism, actively building the great national unity bloc, responding to and participating in emulation movements for national goodness, self-respect, self-respect, and life-saving goods, joining hands with the people and people of the whole country to strive for the goal: rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

Preserving and promoting the quintessence and cultural identity of Vietnamese Buddhism. Ensuring the continuation of tradition and modernity, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity in today's era of extensive international integration.

Strengthen and deepen cooperative and friendly relations with the world Buddhist community. Expanding international relations of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in multilateral foreign affairs activities, cultural diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. Be proactive and proactive in foreign relations with world Buddhist organizations, with Buddhist religious organizations of other countries, especially neighboring countries, with world religious organizations for peace. Closely connect with Vietnamese Buddhist associations abroad and promote the cause of caring for the overseas Vietnamese community.

Promoting the spirit of compassion of Buddhism, ashram and Buddhism, actively participating in social security work, charity and humanitarian activities. In addition to providing relief to people affected by natural disasters and poverty, social charity work focuses on improving capacity to participate in environmental protection, responding to climate change, epidemics... such as building welfare works, Great Unity houses, gratitude houses, social insurance, participating in the fields of education, community health.

Accompanying the nation in the process of transforming the two-level local government model and sustainable development.
