Hanoi - On April 14, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City organized a launch to support the "For Vietnam's Sea and Islands" Fund in 2026.

This is an activity of profound political and social significance, expressing the feelings, responsibility and affection of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital towards the forces who are day and night performing the task of protecting the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Bui Huyen Mai said that in recent years, promoting the tradition of "Hanoi for the whole country, together with the whole country," the city has implemented many practical activities towards the sea and islands, from propaganda and mobilization to organizing working delegations to visit and encourage soldiers and people in sea and island areas.

From 2016 to now, the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital have supported the Fund with over 430 billion VND; in 2025 alone, it reached over 76 billion VND. This is an important resource, clearly showing the feelings, responsibilities and deep affection of the people of the Capital for the homeland's sea and islands.

From this Fund, Hanoi City has implemented many practical projects and tasks with long-term significance, typically supporting the construction of a community cultural house combined with a hall on Da Lat Island, and many other civil works on the Truong Sa archipelago.

Through the Fund, many activities to care for, encourage, and support both materially and spiritually for soldiers and people at the forefront of the waves and winds are also regularly implemented, contributing to consolidating trust and adding motivation for forces to firmly perform the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Continuing the achieved results, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City called on agencies, organizations, units, businesses, religious organizations; officials, soldiers and people of the Capital, and overseas Vietnamese to continue to join hands to support the "For Vietnam's Sea and Islands" Fund in 2026.

According to Plan No. 56-KH/TU dated April 8, 2026 of the Hanoi City Party Committee, from the end of April to the beginning of May 2026, Hanoi City will organize a delegation to visit and encourage soldiers and people in Truong Sa, officers and soldiers of DK-I Oil Rig with 85 delegates, representing departments, agencies, branches, localities, armed forces, businesses and people of the Capital.

The activity directly contributes to bringing resources and feelings from the mainland to soldiers and people on islands, and at the same time continues to strongly spread the spirit of "Hanoi for Vietnam's sea and islands".

At the launching program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City received support registrations from 115 collectives, organizations, and individuals, with a total amount of more than 28 billion VND.

The 2026 campaign is being implemented throughout the city, spreading widely at home and abroad; the time to receive donations is from now until the end of May 31, 2026.
