On the afternoon of November 26, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province organized a workshop to support poor and near-poor households affected by natural disasters in the province.
Statistics in Ca Mau province show that more than 3,000 poor and near-poor households are affected by prolonged heavy rain, combined with high tides that damage production, affect travel, and lose income.
From this reality, with the consensus of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, the Provincial Relief Fund (cussion of more than 3 billion VND) is issued to support poor and near-poor households in 64 communes and wards in the province with a level of 1 million VND for a household with a production loss of 30% or more.
To implement the support, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards report to the Party Committee, coordinate with the People's Committees at the same level to establish a survey and assessment team to determine the level of damage affecting the income of poor and near-poor households in the area.
The survey teams conducted a field survey of 100% of poor and near-poor households affected and made a list of households affected in production and income of 30% or more; responsible for the results and accuracy of the assessment. Based on the survey results, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of communes and wards will support beneficiary households and complete settlement procedures and documents.
The implementation of support for poor and near-poor households affected by natural disasters is a humane policy of the province, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing and accompanying people to overcome difficulties, creating a positive effect in the community and society with the spirit of no one being left behind.
