On March 10, the Provincial Election Commission organized an online conference to deploy the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
The conference is organized in a direct form, combined with online connection to the bridge points of 38 communes and wards in the province.
According to Mr. Ha Quang Trung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Lai Chau Election Commission, the province has issued a plan, organized inspections, and urged localities and units to ensure all necessary conditions before the election day takes place.
The Provincial Election Committee was established with 23 members. At the grassroots level, 38/38 communes and wards have established Election Committees with 626 members; 114 sub-committees and 38 assisting groups have been established. The whole province has established 207 election committees and 854 election groups, ensuring the correct composition, quantity and time according to regulations.
Through three rounds of consultation, Lai Chau selected 13 candidates for the 16th National Assembly to elect 7 deputies; 84 candidates for the Provincial People's Council and 1,258 candidates for the Commune-level People's Council.
The Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee also requested communes and wards to fully prepare the conditions to organize democratic, lawful, safe, and economical elections, truly a festival for the whole people.
Along with that, reviewing facilities, decorating the polling area, and checking the voting process to ensure compliance with regulations.
