Changes from each border village
In the last days of the year, in Mau Son, Bao Lam, Tu Doan communes..., in the cold of cutting the skin, self-managed security and order teams still regularly patrol. At the fireplace, village meetings are held for people to give their opinions and send petitions via the "Listening to the People's Opinions" letter box. Those seemingly small things have become a new democratic lifestyle for the people to speak to, the government to listen to, and the Front to accompany.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province - said that the 2024-2029 term puts the Front in a new context: Streamlining the apparatus, reducing 40% of commune-level cadres, operating two-level government and implementing unprecedented major social security programs.
In the first 2 years of the term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels organized more than 36,000 propaganda sessions, attracting more than 1.5 million people; nearly 4,300 thematic propaganda sessions. Zalo channel OA "Xu Lang Digital Front" covers nearly 100% of communes and wards, becoming a digital communication portal to receive all public opinions.
In two years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has conducted 982 supervisions, organized 192 social criticism conferences and sent more than 1,100 comments to the authorities. The People's Inspectorate supervised 95 meetings; the Community Investment Supervisory Board supervised 239 projects. The success rate of mediation reached 85.64%.
The brightest point is the program "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" with 7,041 units completed and handed over, reaching 100% of the target. Of which, 951 houses were newly built according to the "key-to-hand" model, worth 110 million VND/house; the rest were supported with new construction or repair from 30-60 million VND/house.
The total mobilized resources are more than 290 billion VND, including 238 billion in cash, 15 billion in kind and nearly 10 billion from machinery and working days. In remote villages such as Khuoi Ly and Na Keo, people still remember the days when Front cadres "wed their sandals" to mobilize, measure and monitor each item, helping people have new roofs before the cold season.
Road to milestone, digital transformation and streamlined apparatus create new momentum
For 41 national border markers managed by Bao Lam Border Guard Station, the Provincial Fatherland Front launched a movement to build border marker inspection roads. The whole province has built 327 projects, 74km long. In the 2024-2025 period alone, 101 projects will be completed, nearly 42km long, with a total cost of more than 49 billion VND.
Thanks to that, the route markers 1146/1, 1227, 1088... no longer have the scene of border guards crossing the forest for 2-3 hours as before. The solid concrete road facilitates patrolling, while opening up opportunities for developing border tourism and timely response to natural disasters.
Along with that, the whole province maintains 2,961 self-management models of security, order, environment, fire prevention and fighting, model roads, green houses... 100% of residential areas organize the Great Unity Festival; more than 83% of households achieve Cultural Family status; 68.3% of residential areas meet cultural standards.
Regarding the organization of the apparatus, the provincial Front agencies will be reduced from 6 to 1 unit; the number of professional departments will be reduced from 21 to 9. 66 district-level Front agencies will be dissolved according to the two-level government model, while the commune-level level will be reduced from 970 to 65 agencies.
Digital transformation creates a breakthrough: 100% of documents are signed and processed on the electronic platform; 100% of communes and wards have community Zalo groups. The application "Xu Lang Digital Front" receives feedback via QR code, in which the section "Management of temporary and dilapidated houses" fully updates the support progress.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung affirmed: "Those figures are not only achievements but also the confidence built, the consensus of the people is the foundation for Lang Son to enter the 2025-2030 term with the goal of "Near the people, near the grassroots, near the digital space", building the province to develop quickly, sustainably, and comprehensively".
