At 15, on the afternoon of October 23, the leader of Bau Bang Commune People's Committee said that the body of the old woman who was swept away by water and went missing had been found.
The old woman's body was found about 5km from the original scene. The victim was identified as Ms. N.N (born in 1946 residing in Group 8, Bau Bang Hamlet, Bau Bang Commune, Ho Chi Minh City).
Previously, on the night of October 22 and early morning of October 23, there was heavy rain in Bau Bang commune. The rising water caused a landslide that swept away a temporary house where Ms. N.N lived.
When Mr. H.Q.T (born in 1985, Mrs. N.N's son) returned home from work, he discovered that the house had collapsed and had not seen his mother. Suspecting that his mother was swept away by the water, Mr. H.Q.T reported to the authorities.

After receiving the report, Bau Bang Commune Police coordinated with other units to conduct a search and issued a notice to search for Ms. N.N.
At 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, Ms. N.'s body was discovered about 5 km from the scene.
Local authorities support the victim's family
Talking to reporters, the leader of Bau Bang Commune People's Committee said that on the morning of the same day, the commune had provided Ms. N.N's family with 10 million VND in advance. Currently, the locality is continuing to mobilize support for the family to take care of the funeral of the deceased. At the same time, carry out procedures to support Ms. N.N's family according to the provisions of Resolution No. 35/2025/NQ/HDND of Ho Chi Minh City on regulations on social assistance standards for social protection beneficiaries in Ho Chi Minh City.
