On October 11, a working delegation from Lao Cai province visited and presented support to Thai Nguyen province to overcome the damage caused by the circulation of storm No. 11.

At the meeting and awarding 5 billion VND to support Thai Nguyen province, Ms. Giang Thi Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province shared: "In recent days, Lao Cai has also experienced many damages due to floods, so we understand the difficulties that Thai Nguyen people are facing. Hopefully, this support will contribute to helping Thai Nguyen people soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and restore production".

Previously, immediately after grasping the damage situation in Thai Nguyen, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province launched a fundraising campaign to support people in disaster areas; at the same time, sent a working group to directly present gifts, necessities and emergency support to people severely affected by floods.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province, expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee, government and people of Lao Cai province for promptly sharing and encouraging in difficult times; demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and affection between localities.

According to the report, the circulation of storm No. 11 caused severe damage in Thai Nguyen, of which 7 people died, 2 people were injured; more than 400,000 houses were affected, of which about 200,000 houses were severely damaged; many roads, traffic works, schools and production facilities were destroyed... the total damage is estimated at over 4,000 billion VND.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9.10 (Bualoi) and floods caused by the storm have killed, left missing, and injured 165 people; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
