Thai Nguyen - After the historic flood, the water is gradually receding, the streets are littered with garbage and mud, people are busy cleaning up and overcoming the consequences.

In recent days, the circulation of storm No. 11 has caused heavy rain, causing many areas in the center of Thai Nguyen to be deeply flooded, causing serious damage.

Hundreds of households had to be urgently evacuated, and the water has now gradually receded, leaving behind a scene of devastation on many streets.

On October 9, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that on Minh Cau, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Hoang Van Thu, Thong Nhat underpass and Bac Nam intersection (Phan Dinh Phung ward), many sections were still partially flooded.

Some sections of the water have receded, the road surface is muddy, traffic is difficult, many households have not been able to return home because the water has not receded.

On both sides of the road, garbage was piled up, giving off a strong stench due to the heat, and a thick layer of mud covered the path.

On central streets, people mobilized vehicles and tools to clean, collect, and clear the drainage system.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, who lives near the North-South intersection, shared that water flooded into her house almost to the top of the first floor, damaging furniture and electronic equipment.

Inside many houses, the floor and walls are still covered with thick mud, people take advantage of the fountain to stir it up, if left to dry, the mud will be tightly sealed, cleaning will be many times more difficult.

People and the civil defense force, youth union members collected garbage, mud, used water pumps and vehicles to clear flooded areas, ensuring hygiene and safety of travel.

The already crowded streets now have only mud, cabinets, tables and chairs, and damaged electronic items stacked in front of the door.

Currently, the water on the Cau River is gradually receding, many floating objects are stuck along the shore, some downstream sections are still slightly flooded.

After the big flood, people are still struggling to clean up and overcome the damage to soon stabilize their lives and daily activities.

Previously, Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong requested agencies at all levels to urgently review and assess the level of damage caused by floods.

At the same time, it is required to regulate and reasonably allocate support resources between localities, prioritizing communes that are heavily affected to soon stabilize people's lives.
