On October 9, many trucks carrying necessities from Lao Cai were delivered to people in the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen in the spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves".

After many days of isolation due to floods, hundreds of households in low-lying areas in Thai Nguyen have fallen into a state of isolation, power outage, water shortage, and no contact.

The image of fireworks setting off in the middle of a vast night was widely shared on social networks, touching the community.

In Lao Cai, the circulation of storm No. 10 left 7 people dead, 3 people missing, 10 people injured; more than 11,800 houses were damaged and flooded. The initial damage is estimated at about 2,750 billion VND.

Immediately after initially overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and receiving information that Thai Nguyen province is suffering from the severe consequences of storm No. 11, Lao Cai people have demonstrated the spirit of "mutual love" through many practical activities.

In Due 2 residential group, Nghia Lo ward (Lao Cai province), even though it is nearly 10pm, the light is still bright. The sound of laughter mixed with the sound of tying, the scent of dong leaves, sticky rice spread throughout the space, creating a warm and affectionate atmosphere.

In Ms. Luong Thi Hoan's small house, the winding hands of the elderly, young people, women, union members, association members... together washed leaves, wrapped cakes, and tied them. Everyone is busy but their eyes are on sharing.

Mr. Le Thanh Tung, a resident of Nghia Lo ward - shared: "Seeing that Thai Nguyen people have suffered a lot after the storm, we feel very sorry. Last year, when Typhoon Yagi passed, Thai Nguyen people also came to Lao Cai to help us a lot. So today, they had a problem, I just hope to contribute a little effort so that everyone can overcome the difficulties".

The wrapped banh chung are the crystallization of love, of the spirit of solidarity "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" - the thousand-year-old good tradition of the Vietnamese people. In the afternoon and night of October 8 alone, more than 3,000 banh chung were wrapped, boiled and delivered to people in the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen on October 9.

In addition to banh chung, people and traders in Lao Cai also brought 100 boxes of drinking water, 50 boxes of cakes, 50 sets of new clothes and 65 scarves. Every gift, no matter how small, contains sharing with people in flooded areas.

The Thien Tam Rice Fund group brought a whole family of rice cookers from Lao Cai to Thai Nguyen, ready to serve hundreds of meals a day. During the impact of Typhoon Yagi in 2024 in Lao Cai, the kitchen of the Charity Rice Fund cooked more than 3,000 meals per day for affected households.

The gifts given not only have material value, but also show the affection, sharing and deep encouragement of the people of Lao Cai highlands, expressing the hope that the people of Thai Nguyen will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
