At Binh Minh Square (Cua Lo ward), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the National Launching Ceremony to respond to World Environment Day (June 5), World Oceans Day (June 8), Action Month for the Environment and Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2026.

Attending the launching ceremony, on the central side were comrades: Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Trinh Viet Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Ha Thi Nga - Vice Chairman, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Thi Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Bui Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Leaders of Nghe An province, leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches; leaders of People's Committees of provinces and cities; representatives of the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP); representatives of international organizations, agencies, units, businesses, socio-political organizations, armed forces and a large number of people and tourists attended the program.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung affirmed: "Environmental protection, biodiversity, and sustainable development of the marine economy are always central issues in the guidelines, policies, and agendas of the Party and State.
Over the past time, society's awareness and actions on environmental protection have had many positive changes. Many movements, good models, and creative ways of doing things have been effectively implemented in many localities, agencies, businesses, schools and residential areas; contributing to making our living environment increasingly better.
Following that, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - launched the movement "All people join hands to protect the environment, for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam" nationwide.
The movement is expected to become a long-term campaign to promote behavior change in the community, from sorting waste at source, reducing plastic waste to preserving marine landscapes and coastal ecosystems.

At the ceremony, representatives of UNDP and leaders of Nghe An province gave response speeches, emphasizing the role of international and local cooperation in responding to current environmental challenges. The organizing committee also presented a report on social forces participating in environmental protection, marine conservation and sustainable marine economic development.
After the launching ceremony, delegates participated in many meaningful activities such as: cleaning Cua Lo beach, planting trees, visiting fishermen, donating 1,000 national flags and freshwater tanks to fishing boats.
The organizers also presented 25 bicycles to children of fishermen who are poor students overcoming difficulties and have achievements in their studies. These activities link the message of environmental protection with the real life of coastal communities, while integrating social security and sea and island sovereignty factors.
