Green conversion is a "ticket" to travel
The Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress clearly defines the requirement to build a new growth model based on the digital economy, data economy, green economy and circular economy; and at the same time promote digital transformation, green transformation and energy transformation. Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang - an economic expert assessed that this orientation shows that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development, in which growth not only sets targets for speed but also focuses on quality, sustainability and adaptability to global trends.
Previously, many economies, including Vietnam, mainly grew on resource exploitation, low-cost labor and production expansion. However, this model is gradually revealing limitations as environmental protection pressure is increasing. Green transformation is no longer a selective trend but has become an inevitable requirement. Making green transformation one of the development focuses is an important change in Vietnam's economic thinking.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang, green standards will become a "ticket" for businesses to participate in the international market. Many countries and major trading partners have now applied mechanisms related to carbon emissions, green origin traceability and sustainable development standards. If businesses do not change their technology and production models, the risk of losing orders and reducing competitiveness is very high.
In that context, in order to contribute to realizing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, and at the same time create a forum to connect management agencies, experts, businesses and people in the green transformation process, Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Hanoi People's Committee organizes the 2026 Green Transformation Day event with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's new growth model". The event will take place from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on May 16, 2026, at Cau Giay Park, Cau Giay ward, Hanoi City.
Green Transformation Day 2026 is organized as a multi-dimensional connection space between managers, experts, businesses and people to exchange solutions to promote sustainable development and adapt to global green economic trends.
