Promoting the role of a bridge, arousing the people's strength
Khanh Hoa is one of the localities that have reached the finish line early in the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the period 2024 - 2025. This achievement not only contributes to realizing social security policies but also helps thousands of poor, near-poor households and disadvantaged families stabilize their housing and improve their lives.
The new house of Ms. Cao Thi Minh (Suoi Lau 3 village, Suoi Dau commune) is one of thousands of shelters built from the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses". Ms. Minh said that her family's old house was seriously degraded, the corrugated iron roof and walls were peeling. Every rainy season, it leaks, and in the dry season, it is very hot. The whole family of four depends on her husband's unpaid wages, so the dream of having a spacious house is still a distant dream.
Thanks to the support program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, her family was supported with 60 million VND, along with the help of relatives and neighbors, the 50m2 level 4 house was completed in May. "Now that I have a new house, I can work with peace of mind to raise my children, hoping to escape poverty soon" - Ms. Minh emotionally shared.
That is only one of 3,539 cases supported to build new and repair houses from the program in the period of 2024 - 2025. The houses that meet the "3 hard" standard, with a minimum area of 32m2, a lifespan of over 20 years, not only have material value but also demonstrate the deep concern of the Party and State for the poor, contributing practically to sustainable poverty reduction.
To have resources to implement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Khanh Hoa province has mobilized agencies, units, businesses, banks, religious organizations and people to support the "For the Poor" Fund, earning more than 97.5 billion VND in a short time alone - demonstrating the strong influence of the movement.

Creativity in the way of doing things, spreading the spirit of "whoever has something helps them"
According to Ms. Tran Thi Tu Vien, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province, the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in the period of 2024-2025 has become a prominent highlight, 6 months ahead of the Central Government's schedule.
This result comes from a series of creative ways of effectively mobilizing social resources according to the motto "whoever has something helps others, whoever has money helps them, whoever has merits helps them".
The 90 day and night campaign responded to the movement with the participation and direction of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, along with fundraising activities such as golf tournaments and specialty auctions, and raised more than 7 billion VND, creating a widespread influence.
The province also issued a set of standard houses with an area of 30 - 80m2 with specific estimates, helping localities to implement quickly, save materials, and optimize costs. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinates with media agencies to promote digital communication, telling humane stories through a series of content "From new homes to new lives" on social networks.
In addition to the "For the Poor" Fund, localities also mobilized an additional VND8.4 billion in materials, necessities and more than 40,000 working days from the armed forces, union members, and youth - to help reduce construction costs by 1020. People also proactively contribute 11.7 billion VND from family capital, family background or loans from the Social Policy Bank.
Thanks to that, in a short time, the whole province has completed the demolition of 3,539 houses (1,588 newly built houses, 1,551 repaired houses) with a total cost of more than 194.23 billion VND, 6 months ahead of the Central target. Of which, the State budget supports 111.27 billion VND, the rest is from socialized sources and the Fund "For the Poor".
According to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the completion of the temporary housing removal program in 2025 is only the beginning of the journey of " settling down - making a living". The Front is continuing to review and support households in difficulty in the next phase, ensuring that "no one is left behind".
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front added that in the period of 2020-2025, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels has mobilized more than 170 billion VND, supported the construction and repair of more than 4,000 Great Unity houses and carried out many activities to care for people's lives.
Khanh Hoa's long-term goal is to help people have stable jobs, sustainable incomes, towards 2030 - no more poor households, building the locality into a centrally-run city, where people have a good, peaceful and happy life.
