HCMC - Ahead of the Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of HCMC spent nearly 34 billion VND to take care of social security and the Lunar New Year 2026.

On November 28, the delegation attending the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025-2030, carried out a series of meaningful gratitude and social security activities in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau area before.

The delegation was led by Ms. Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union.

The delegation spent time going to Ba Ria - Vung Tau Martyrs' Cemetery (Ba Ria Ward) to offer incense and flowers to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs. In a solemn atmosphere, delegates expressed their deep gratitude for the great sacrifices for the cause of national liberation and national defense.

Immediately after the visiting ceremony, the delegation attended the handover ceremony of the Great Unity house for disadvantaged households in Ba Ria ward. On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City supported the repair of a house for Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet's household with a budget of 70 million VND and presented a budget to support the repair of a house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Huong's household with a budget of 80 million VND.

The delegation also visited and expressed gratitude to the two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers living in Tam Long ward.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc affirmed that supporting house repairs not only helps families improve living conditions but also spreads a humane message of solidarity, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

Joining in the emulation atmosphere to achieve achievements to celebrate the Congress, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Mobilization Committee of the City Fund for the Poor has allocated a total of nearly 34 billion VND from the Fund for the Poor to carry out social security work and take care of Tet.

Accordingly, 927.1 million VND was spent on social security work in 7 wards, and 33 billion VND was spent to take care of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 for people in 168 communes, wards, and special zones.

Ms. Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc emphasized: With the consistent viewpoint of Taking the people as the center - subject - goal - driving force, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City always directs all resources to communes, wards, and special zones, places directly attached to peoples lives, understanding each situation, each need, and each commune, ward, and special zone is the core core core in the journey to care for the citys social security.

In the old Binh Duong province, Mr. Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, led the delegation to visit the Binh Duong Martyrs' Cemetery.

The delegation lit incense to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, compatriots, and comrades who heroically sacrificed for the cause of fighting for national independence and national reunification.

The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030, will take place for 1.5 days (November 29 and 30) at the Binh Duong Exhibition Convention Center. The Congress is expected to have 880 delegates, including 500 official delegates, with the theme "Promoting the strength of great national unity, joining hands, and unanimously building Ho Chi Minh City to develop sustainably in the new era, for the happiness of the people".
