SE2 train staff of the Hanoi Railway Staff Team returned nearly 123 million VND and many assets to passengers who forgot them on the train.

On the morning of July 22, train SE2 of the Hanoi Railway Staff Branch promptly discovered and returned property worth nearly 123 million VND to a passenger who forgot it on the train.

According to information from the train crew, at about 4:15 am on the same day, after leaving Nam Dinh station to continue the journey to Hanoi, the attendant in charge of car number 3, Mr. Mai Quy Hoan, discovered a black handbag placed at seat number 31 during inspection, cleaning and ensuring safety on the train.

Recognizing that this was a passenger's forgotten property, Mr. Hoan reported to Captain Le Xuan Quyet for handling according to regulations.

Immediately after that, the working group including Train Chief Le Xuan Quyet, cabin attendant Mai Quy Hoan and security guard Nguyen Chi Giang conducted an inspection and made a record in the presence of two passengers traveling in the same car, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (seat number 32) and Mr. Nguyen Truong Son (seat number 33).

Through inspection, functional forces determined that inside the bag there were some personal belongings and cash amounts up to 122.85 million VND. The amount of money included 234 banknotes of 500,000 VND denomination, 22 banknotes of 200,000 VND denomination, 12 banknotes of 100,000 VND denomination and 5 banknotes of 50,000 VND denomination.

By professional measures, the train crew identified the owner of the above property as Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a passenger traveling by train from Saigon station to Nam Dinh station.

Because the passenger had already got off the train before, at about 7:30 am on the same day at Hanoi station, the train crew handed over all the property to Mr. Pham Van Dang - the person authorized by Ms. Thuy to receive it back.

After receiving her property back, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy called to thank the SE2 train crew for the sense of responsibility and honesty of the railway staff.

Representatives of the Railway industry said that this is not an isolated case. About a week earlier, the SE1 train crew also returned property worth about 10 million VND and many important papers to a passenger who forgot them.

The above actions contribute to spreading the beautiful image of the staff and employees of the Railway industry, and at the same time strengthen the trust of passengers when choosing trains as a means of transportation.
