On September 24, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Hung commune held the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune for the 2025-2030 term.
During the past term, the Commune Fatherland Front has made efforts and determined to overcome difficulties and challenges, strengthen coordination with authorities at all levels and member organizations to successfully implement the goals and tasks in the Program of coordination and action agreed upon by the Social Fatherland Front Congress.

The work of supervision, social criticism, and participation in Party and government building has had many positive changes, gradually widely promoting the people's mastery.
The movements and campaigns of the Front and its member organizations are increasingly in-depth, having a strong influence. The Commune Fatherland Front has mobilized and issued a "For the Poor" Fund of 250 million VND to support the repair of 7 houses; treatment of serious illnesses; supporting learning and production; visiting and giving gifts during holidays and Tet to 100% of poor and near-poor households in the commune. At the same time, coordinate with sectors and communes to mobilize the repair and construction of 124 houses, worth about 4.9 billion VND according to the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government.
In the commune, there are more than 200 households escaping poverty and near-poor. The rate of poor households during the term has decreased sharply, currently there are 5 poor households, accounting for 0.062% and 175 near-poor households accounting for 2.18%.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - acknowledged and praised the responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune and its member organizations, especially the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the people. Thereby, helping the work of the Long Hung Commune Front achieve many remarkable results.
Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, Long Hung is facing new opportunities and requirements. To successfully complete the task, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune continue to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc; Innovation in content and methods of operation, strongly focusing on the grassroots, taking the people as the center; Strengthening the implementation of campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, associated with the goal of building a new rural commune to improve, developing the economy associated with environmental protection, preserving cultural identity, building a civilized and safe life.

The Congress agreed on 10 specific targets and 3 breakthroughs for the new term; consulted to elect the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Hung commune, term 2025 - 2030 with 55 members.
At the first meeting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune jointly elected the Standing Committee and the positions of chairman and vice chairman. Mr. Nguyen Hong Chau holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Hung commune, term 2025 - 2030.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City directly awarded 10 scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies in the commune, each worth 1 million VND.
