On September 18, the Dong Thap Provincial Business Association held the 1st Congress, term 2026 - 2031 with the spirit of "Solidarity - Innovation - Cooperation - Development". Attending the Congress were Mr. Le Minh Hoan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Hoang Quang Phong - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and representatives of leaders of agencies, units and the business community.
At the Congress, the Organizing Committee announced the decision of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee on allowing the merger of the Tien Giang Provincial Business Association and the Dong Thap Provincial Business Association into the Dong Thap Provincial Business Association.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Business Association, term I, 2026 - 2031, consisting of 58 members. Mr. Tran Thanh Duc was trusted to hold the position of Chairman of the Association. The Vice Chairmen of the Association include: Mr. Ho Chi Dung, Huynh Huu Quyen, Nguyen Van Thai, Nguyen Phuong Binh, Nguyen Van Dao, Dang Xuan Huy, Luong Nguyen Duy Thong and Ms. Le Thi Hong.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Le Minh Hoan expressed his expectation that the Provincial Business Association in the new term will strengthen connectivity, expand markets, improve the quality of typical Dong Thap products and spread the spirit of cooperation and innovation in the business community.
Mr. Hoang Quang Phong assessed that Dong Thap and the Mekong Delta region have many advantages in geographical location, production conditions and key products have built brands. This is the foundation for the business community under the management of the new term of the Business Association to continue to promote linkages, improve production value and contribute more to socio-economic development in the coming time.
