On the afternoon of October 16, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to collect opinions on the draft documents of the 1st Congress of the VFF of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030.
Speaking at the orientation, Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the draft document of the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030, has been widely deployed to collect public opinions from all classes of people. In particular, organized a public consultation on the website and fanpage of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the City with more than 500 participants giving comments.
The Standing Committee hopes to receive comments at today's conference on many contents such as the motto and theme of the Congress; evaluating the results of the term's work since the 12th Congress and after the merger of 3 localities; directions, goals, 9 targets, 6 programs, and projects; what needs to be supplemented to ensure that the document clearly shows strong innovation in content and methods of operation...
Today's contributions will be fully compiled and accepted by the Standing Committee, reported to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for consideration and direction.
Commenting at the conference, Dr. Luong Bach Van - former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, Chairman of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs and Overseas Vietnamese of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City - said that with the diversity of the new city today, Ho Chi Minh City really needs the contribution of a team of consultants, experts with experience and knowledge accumulated through many years of working abroad.
Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front system of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2025-2030 term, it is necessary to have a place to gather Vietnamese intellectuals and businessmen abroad, organize regular meetings, and connect overseas Vietnamese with the city government.
Ms. Van emphasized that when there is practical attention and support, the overseas Vietnamese community will be a part of the soft power, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam to the international community. At the same time, it strengthens the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the region and the world.
Regarding the form of reporting, Mr. Pham Hoa - former Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the main content needs to have specific data to make the report more vivid and attractive.
Mr. Hoa also suggested that the Standing Committee pay attention to improving the quality of the great national unity festival in residential areas, while enhancing exchanges and meetings between religions.
Regarding supervision and social criticism, it is necessary to increase the number of supervisions. At the same time, special attention should be paid to monitoring the implementation of the conclusions after supervision.
Mr. Hoa also emphasized the human factor as the key factor, suggesting paying attention to training, fostering, and improving the qualifications of the frontline staff, especially at the grassroots level, to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new period.
