The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense donated 10 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods through the Central Relief Mobilization Committee.

On October 20, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF), Central organizations received support for people in provinces and cities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in the amount of 10 billion VND.

Presenting the donation to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, shared that in recent days, storms and floods have caused heavy damage to people and property in many localities, especially in the northern provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Ninh...; with the consent of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, cadres, civil servants and public employees have joined hands to support with an amount of 10 billion VND.

"Although this amount is not large, it is the sentiment, responsibility and sincere sharing of the entire army's officers and soldiers to the people in the affected areas. That is the heart of Uncle Ho's soldiers always turned to the people, together with the people overcoming difficulties and losses to rise up in life", Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To expressed and said that with the tradition of "Forgetting oneself for the people", in the face of the damage caused by storms No. 10 and 11, the Ministry of National Defense has promptly mobilized more than 485,000 officers and soldiers of the regular forces and militia, along with more than 10,000 vehicles and equipment of all kinds, actively participating in responding, searching for and rescuing, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters with the spirit of "wherever the water recedes, the army will come to support", helping the people soon stabilize their lives.

During storms, the Army units are always the shock force on the front line, not afraid of danger and hardship, wholeheartedly helping people evacuate, rescue, rebuild houses, restore infrastructure, and stabilize their lives. At the same time, donating and supporting hundreds of tons of food, provisions, blankets, clothes and necessities, demonstrating the Army's deep affection, responsibility and affection for the people", Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To shared and hoped that, through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the donations will soon be allocated to help people in the provinces have more resources to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long emphasized: In the most difficult times, when natural disasters and floods are complicated, the military and police forces are always the front line to support the people. In particular, promoting the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have promptly directed the entire army to proactively respond, rescue, and especially support the people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives after storms and floods.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long pledged that all the money received will continue to be distributed to beneficiaries; at the same time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels will continue to coordinate with authorities to deploy support sources to ensure compliance with regulations, the right subjects, the most effective and transparent, contributing to helping people affected by natural disasters and floods to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

Also on October 20, when presenting a donation of 1.25 billion VND from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long shared that, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in the spirit of the whole country's solidarity, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade have called on all Party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the Industry and Trade sector to promote the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and actively supporting people in flooded areas with practical actions.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will work with the whole country to support people in localities suffering losses and damages caused by storms and floods, contributing to alleviating difficulties, adding strength for people in flooded areas to firmly overcome difficulties.

On the same day, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front received support from Manulife Vietnam in the amount of 1.5 billion VND; the Vietnamese Community of Kazan City, Russian Federation in the amount of 80 million VND; the Trade Union of So To Marketing Joint Stock Company presented support gifts worth 76,350,000 VND.
