Through policy forums, friendly golf tournaments with partners in Korea, Japan, Singapore... Hai Phong creates more space to connect investment, trade, and tourism; and at the same time promotes foreign businesses to participate in social responsibility, support education, and vocational training.
Unleashing resources from overseas Vietnamese
The Fatherland Front at all levels of the city has also unleashed overseas Vietnamese resources and diversified international funding sources to serve the socio-economic development of the city. With a community of more than 9,000 Hai Phong people living and working across continents, the city identifies this as an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc.
In the period 2024 - 2026, the work of attracting resources from overseas Vietnamese has achieved particularly impressive results in both economic and social aspects: In 2024, the amount of remittances sent to Hai Phong City reached 380 million USD, and Hai Duong province about 272 million USD. In 2025 (after merger), the amount of remittances sent to the city was about more than 700 million USD, which played an important role in promoting investment, social consumption, supplementing foreign currency sources and consolidating the financial potential of the city.
Overseas Vietnamese capital is concretized through more than 30 businesses registered for business by overseas Vietnamese, operating stably in Hai Phong. Many individuals also bring business models back to their hometowns, especially in the fields of services, hotels, and restaurants.
The close connection between the Front and the Union of Friendship Organizations, the Peace Committee and the Liaison Association of Overseas Vietnamese has ensured smooth information, contributing to seizing the support of overseas Vietnamese and international friends, creating a solid people-to-people foreign affairs posture, contributing to maintaining political stability and creating a favorable environment for Hai Phong to integrate deeply and sustainably" - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City Nguyen Duc Tuan said.
