Foreign affairs must be put into the common flow of the country

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized the above when speaking at the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day (November 17, 1950 - November 17, 2025) and the Patriotic Emulation Congress for the 2025 - 2030 period of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The event took place on the morning of November 17.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai congratulated and commended generations of leaders, cadres, civil servants, workers and all those working in people's affairs of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for their proud achievements over the past 75 years.

In the new context, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai suggested that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations should continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines, vision, and strategic thinking on the goals and tasks in the new era of national development, becoming a developed country with high income, and firmly moving towards socialism. Foreign affairs of the people must put themselves in the common flow of the country, must serve the work of protecting, building and developing a rich, prosperous, civilized and happy country.

Along with that, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations needs to advise the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front in creating profound changes in the awareness of people's foreign affairs. It is necessary to clearly unify the awareness of foreign affairs cadres and all levels and sectors about the role, position and relationship between Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's foreign affairs.

Foreign affairs of the people must promote their strengths, closely connect "the Party with the people's hearts", connect "the great national unity bloc with the noble international unity". People's foreign affairs must contribute significantly to the foreign affairs of the Party and the State diplomatic affairs, continue to "combine the multifaceted strength of the nation with the strength of the times" to work with the whole country to "build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and rich Vietnam, contributing worthily to the cause of the world revolution" as directed by General Secretary To Lam in recent times.

In addition, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations needs to continue to closely and smoothly coordinate with Party foreign affairs and State diplomacy in advising the Party and State on the development and effective implementation of policies, guidelines, strategies, and plans for foreign affairs and people's diplomacy; it is necessary to further promote its core and professional role to advise the Vietnam Fatherland Front in gathering forces to do people's foreign affairs work nationwide, forming a large, truly effective people's foreign affairs front.

It is necessary to further innovate the content and methods, improve the quality and efficiency of people's foreign affairs activities. Foreign affairs of the people must necessarily reflect the voices of all classes of people. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on implementing people's foreign affairs activities at the grassroots level; attach importance to the participation of sectors, all classes, especially the young generation, youth, students, etc.

People's foreign affairs activities must be diverse in subjects of implementation, partners, areas of cooperation, content and methods of implementation, not limited by format and ceremony. Foreign affairs of the people need to " proactively adapt, make breakthroughs, be creative, practical, and effective".

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations system must have breakthroughs: Breakthroughs in leadership, direction, orientation, organization of the implementation of people's foreign affairs activities to ensure efficiency - effectiveness - efficiency; clearly assign people, work, products, authority, responsibility; breakthrough in promoting digital transformation, applying information technology, artificial intelligence to work; breakthrough in building a team of people's foreign affairs workers with strong political will, revolutionary ethics, qualifications, capacity, and full necessary skills, meeting the increasingly high requirements of work.
