The National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to approve Major General Tran Duc Thuan, National Assembly delegate of Nghe An province, Member of the National Assembly, full-time delegate at the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
This Resolution takes effect from October 9, 2025.
Major General Tran Duc Thuan was born in 1968, from Nghe An province, with a master's degree in law.
Before his appointment, Mr. Thuan was a full-time National Assembly delegate at the National Defense, Security and External Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, under the delegation of Nghe An province.
Currently, the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs is chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi.
Along with Major General Tran Duc Thuan, the Committee also has 5 other deputy heads, Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Duc, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung, Mr. Don Tuan Phong and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tien.
