On the morning of February 5th, in Da Nang city, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in coordination with the City People's Committee organized the "Tet of Compassion - 0-dong Tet Market" program, giving gifts to poor households and families in difficult circumstances in the area.
The program aims at the spirit of sharing and practical support so that people have conditions to celebrate Tet fully and warmly. The activity is organized according to the "Tet market" model, creating conditions for beneficiaries to choose necessary items suitable to their family needs.
On the occasion of Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society implemented support for 1.5 million Tet gifts, with a total value of 750 billion VND, for the poor, vulnerable groups, people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, and orphans nationwide. This is a great resource, showing the concern of all levels, sectors and the social community for those in difficult circumstances.
In Da Nang alone, the "Tet of Compassion - 0-dong Tet Market" program has given gifts to 1,000 poor and near-poor households, people with disabilities, critically ill patients and households affected by natural disasters. Each household received a shopping voucher worth 1,000,000 VND to choose items to serve Tet.
In addition to material support, the program also organizes many accompanying activities such as free haircuts, giving calligraphy, consulting on eye diseases, and taking Tet photos. These activities contribute to bringing a joyful atmosphere, helping people feel more clearly the concern and companionship of the community.
The program not only has immediate support meaning but also spreads the spirit of compassion, contributing to taking care of social security in the city.
