On the afternoon of August 26, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of My Tu commune (Can Tho city) held an advanced typical conference of the VFF, People's Committee and socio-political organizations of My Tu commune.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, President of the City Labor Federation attended and directed the conference.
In the period of 2020 - 2025, emulation movements in My Tu commune achieved many comprehensive results. The locality is stepping up the conversion of crop and livestock structure, the total livestock and poultry herd of more than 150,000, creating jobs for 1,340 workers, and sustainably reducing poverty. The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas" has spread widely, with 95% of cultural households and 23/23 cultural hamlets. People donated 95,000 m2 of land, contributing nearly 3 billion VND to build infrastructure.
The health insurance participation rate reached 100%, communes met national standards on grassroots health; mobilized over 5 billion VND for Covid-19 prevention and control. The Fund for the Poor mobilized nearly 500 million VND, along with other resources, to build and repair over 120 houses for poor households and policies.
Complete 100% of military recruitment targets; maintain peace for the people. Emulation movements have contributed to strengthening the great solidarity bloc, creating momentum for local socio-economic development.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai praised and acknowledged the results of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Tu commune in recent years.
The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and the Chairman of the City Labor Federation suggested that the whole commune focus on key orientations such as: Continuing to innovate emulation and reward work, emulation movements must truly adhere to local political tasks. Strengthen propaganda and replicate advanced models, need to increase propaganda about good people, good deeds, good models, creative ways of doing things to create a competitive spirit in the community. Combining emulation with "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", making each emulation movement imbued with Uncle Ho's ideology and morality, thereby improving the quality and meaning of the movements. Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and commune organizations need to coordinate closely, creating the most favorable conditions for emulation movements to develop strongly and sustainably.
At the conference, delegates presented presentations; launched a patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030; commended, honored and rewarded 5 collectives and 10 typical advanced individuals.
