Receiving 82 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses from the banking industry

On the morning of July 14, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a ceremony to receive funds to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses of officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the banking sector.

Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (VFF), Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam said that the total amount of union members and employees in the banking sector supporting this program is 82 billion VND, corresponding to the cost of building 1,366 new houses (the support level for building new houses is 60 million VND/house), exceeding the initial target by 36.6%.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, this support fund demonstrates the affection, sense of responsibility and mutual affection of union members and employees in the banking industry for the work of supporting social security in general and the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in particular. This is also an extremely meaningful activity and also an opportunity for union members and workers in the banking industry to continue expressing their feelings and ethics of "When drinking water, remember its source", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" to arouse the spirit of great national unity and demonstrate the responsibility of cadres, union members, and workers in the banking industry with the motto, each person contributes a hand, each family shares a part, the greater strength is great support, the greater strength is small work, so that each house is built not only for material things but also for love, and for the sharing of the whole community.

The Governor of the State Bank said that the amount of 82 billion VND donated by officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the banking sector will be supported by the banking sector for the Program "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of 15 billion VND and directly supported localities with 67 billion VND.

The banking industry would like to thank the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for organizing a ceremony to receive today so that the banking industry can support the mobilized money from the Banking Industry Program Joining hands to eliminate 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to the whole country in completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31, 2025 under the direction of the Prime Minister Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong expressed.

Speaking at the reception ceremony, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central Trade Unions, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front congratulated the proud achievements of the banking sector in recent times, contributing to helping the country's GDP increase by 7.52% in the first 6 months of the year.

Mr. Do Van Chien also congratulated the achievements of the banking industry in ensuring social security.

Mr. Do Van Chien informed that in the past, based on the practical situation, the Politburo established the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations. This is one of 6 party committees under the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee of the Party. Currently, the Party Committee has 25 grassroots party organizations with more than 5,000 party members.

The Standing Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee have closely coordinated with relevant agencies to prepare very important contents to amend and supplement the 2013 Constitution, mainly Articles 9, 10 and 84; presided over the coordination and development of 1 law, amending 4 laws: Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Law on Trade Unions, Law on Youth, Law on implementing democracy at the grassroots level.

In addition, the Politburo issued Decision No. 304-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organization of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, with the new model, the strength of great solidarity will certainly reach new heights. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations do not directly make money, do not directly build massive, modern, and dangerous projects, but under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of socio-political organizations and other member organizations of the Front are the core to build a solid, connected, and accompanying the entire Party, people, and army to build and firmly protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized.
